Reddish Brown (Suzumecha)
It refers to a reddish brown color like the suzume's (meaning sparrow in Japanese) head.
The dying technique has been employed in China from the ancient times.
However, it seems that the Chinese suzumecha turns out to be darker than the Japanese suzumecha.
There is no written record on this color from the Edo Period in Japan.
This color seems to have emerged after the Meiji Period.
