"Wave Crest Pattern" ("Seigaiha")
A swirl of concentric circles divided in four parts is repeated in this pattern.
A pattern that can be observed around the world, for example in Egypt and in Persia.
This pattern is on the clothes worn under the kimono when performing the act called "Seigaiha" (Blue sea waves) of traditional bugaku dance.
Due to this, the pattern was also called "Seigaiha" (Blue sea waves).
It is an auspicious omen motif that signifies the wish for a long and calm life, just as the constantly repeating gentle waves of the pattern.

Sapphire Blue (Asahanada)
Hanada-iro (Light indigo) is a pure blue that comes from a single dye of indigo. Asahanada refers to a same color in a lighter tone.
"Hanada (Light indigo)" is a former name for blue and is also called "hana-iro (flower color)" since people used the dye obtained from Asiatic dayflower.
English name "sapphire blue" - the blue color of sapphire stone.
