≪ Design ≫
"Counting Rod Break" ("Sangi Kuzushi")
A "sangi" is a tool that was used for calculating sums up until the Muromachi period in Japan (1333-1573). They were also used for fortune telling.
The name "sangi-kuzushi" comes from creating a pattern by jumbling (kuzushi) these sangi rods.
The rods were also used to predict good fortune in the future.
That is why this pattern is also sometimes called "hoping for a happy future."
≪ Color ≫
Bamboo Green (Aotake-iro)
Just as the name would suggest, this describes the color of mature bamboo. A vivid, blue-tinged green.
There are other color names relating to bamboo, such as "young bamboo color" and "aged bamboo color".
Fresh bamboo is called "green bamboo", so "bamboo color" is generally thought of as "green".
In English, this color is known as "jewel green".
